Private Labelling: How it works
Private labelling is the process of sourcing products from a manufacturer and then customising the product by changing colours and adding brandings such as a logo to sell through your own company. Many of the products seen today are private label products as it’s a cost effective way to source branded products.
Sourcing private labelled goods in China is as rewarding as it is challenging. Many people turn to Alibaba to take advantage of the lower production costs, however they end up wasting time and money with manufacturers who can’t speak English, produce low quality goods or are deceitful.
Our private labelling service overcomes these uncertainties and sources factories to produce your products to a high standard and a fast delivery time.
Our sourcing is sustainable and conscientious, and we only deal with factories that have passed their certificate.
Tell us your product categories
You can choose two categories of products (for example handbags and hats) and we will compile a list of twenty product options per category.
Choose your favourite products
From this list of products, you choose two products in each category which best serve your businesses’ needs, and then we will negotiate with the manufacturers of these products on your behalf.
For example:
- Handbags – twenty images of different styles and types of handbags. You will choose two of these.
- Hats – twenty images of different styles and types of hats. You will choose two of these.
Generate a quotiation sheet
You are provided with a full quotation sheet to ensure you’re happy with the products chosen and are fully aware of their details. This will include product numbers, images, material specifications, sizes, weight, minimum order quantity (MOQ) and freight on board (FOB).
View pre-production samples
The manufacturer creates pre-production samples (PPS) to the specifications and ships these to Sourcing Elements and the client for inspection. These samples can also be used to generate investment in a product, market research, or pre-production sales.
We take care of sample costs for you.
Begin bulk production
If you are happy with the samples we will instruct the factory to being bulk production to the exact specifications chosen for the final product.
These costs will be paid by the client.
Freight to your warehouse
Once the production is complete we are responsible for all the export documents and sending the goods to your forwarders warehouse or port destination.
Please note: we act as a buying agent for you which means you’ll be required to pay us the FOB amount and we will forward this through to the manufacturer in order to have your products created. You do not receive the manufacturers contact.
